ULTRAMEM: Translating Dip-Coating into a Continuous Technique for Thin Film Composite Production
The shift from dip-coating to continuous coating for Thin Film Composite (TFC) hollow fiber membranes is a major step forward for applications like gas separation, water treatment, and wastewater purification.
With a continuous coating system featuring a 7-meter fiber path and high-temperature solvent evaporation, it’s now possible to coat fibers up to 80-100 meters in length. This process ensures consistent, defect-free coatings, balancing permeance and selectivity for industrial demands.
This innovation opens up new possibilities for high-quality, scalable membrane production.
